Matei Plays the European Youth Chess Championship (U14)

Matei started the EYCC U14 tournament yesterday. The tournament takes place in Mamaia (Romania), between 4-15 September 2023.

This year, there are over 900 players, in 6 age categories, U8-U18. Boys and girls play in separate tournaments. All tournaments are played in a Swiss system, of 9 rounds. In the line-ups of the U14 competition there are 99 participants from over 40 countries.

The first round went well, with a full point grabbed by Matei. In the second round, Matei plays on the 6th board, live, from 15:00 EET (14:00 CET).
